Grounding

I got on Facebook today to ask other Bernie supporters what they thought should happen with the whole Arizona voting and not voting and that whole thing. You know what? There are a lot of smart people backing Bernie and I am amazed, pleased, impressed and gratified because these people are coming up with solutions.

So, for tonight, I leave it in their capable hands.
 
Tonight, I am grounding, meaning using oils, took the dogs for a walk, exercised, going to shower. I am weary with all the corruption. My heart has been heavy with the bombings in Brussels.

Tonight, I need to ease my spirit.

I did, however, LOVE the bird incident at Bernie's rally. L-O-V-E.

It is a few days after Bernie did not get the win we wanted in New York. And yet again, there were problems with voting. There were problems in Brooklyn, his stompin' grounds. There are lawsuits a-plenty. Am I being paranoid to say that something--AGAIN--smells fishy? I refuse to get discouraged. There are many true, honest, good people in place who are not going to stand for this and I consider myself to be one of them. And I know many thousands, tens of thousands, millions who are also insisting that we have honest elections. And I am so grateful. But I have to ask myself, how can winning the election be so important that either it's been handled poorly from stupidity, trying to save a buck (that isn't working out so well now, is it?) or because people have lied, are still lying? Isn't there value in honesty and integrity? Aren't these values a huge part of America? What is the cost of truth in voting? And how can we make sure that EVERY. VOTE...

Nathan's friend

My son Nathan died many years ago from a heroin addiction. It was horrible. All of it was simply horrible. The estrangement before, the small inching back we had done that I thought was repairing our broken relationship, the hope I felt that he had started college and had a new girlfriend after he left rehab. All of it gone. For a year, I was numb with guilt when I wasn't screaming with agony. That sounds over-dramatic. I assure you--it is not. It was horrible, too. Through the years, I have learned to live with the pain and basically gotten through it. I absolutely know Nathan is in a better place. I testify of this. He has come to me and told me and it was a loving experience. In the meantime, I have done a lot of work to learn how to love, how to stop fearing, to forgive, to embrace life. I am okay. In my Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we send out missionaries. And in recent years, due to the Church's policy to allow young men to leave at age 18 (instead of 19) and young women to leave at 19 (instead of 21), there are A LOT of missionaries out there. Over 88,000 of 'em. Yes, you read that right. I myself am the mother of a missionary and this whole experience has been a life-changing one, one I will write about more often in the future. But here's the thing I need to tell you and you and you. I t's Christmastime.
